Laura Linney, best known for portraying strong, but weak characters, is among of the most acclaimed American actors of the present. Her mother was an unmarried single mother who worked as a nurse. Her interest in the theatre during summers spent with her famous father. She was a student of acting at Brown University, and later in Juilliard School. The actress began her Broadway career after her graduation after which she made her TV debut in the next year. She has appeared on numerous shows on stage, television and film programs since. Over the course of her career, she won numerous awards including two Golden Globe Awards. In spite of numerous awards acting has been her primary passion and she has continued to appear both in stage and screen.
