Laura Linney, best known for portraying strong, but weak characters, is among of the most well-known American actors of today. Her father was a celebrated writer, however Linney was raised as a single child by a single mom, a nurse. Through the summer months, while with her dad, Linney developed a passion for theatre. Her first stage experience was first in Brown University then at Juilliard School. In just two short months after graduating, she launched her Broadway-based career. Following that, she made her debut on TV and film. In the years since, she's been involved in numerous films, television productions and stage shows. She received many accolades throughout her career which included four Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. While she has received numerous awards over the years, theater is always her main passion.
