Laura Linney was one of the greatest American actors in recent history. Her savacious and flimsy roles have earned her a cult brand. Linney was born to a single, unmarried mother who worked as a nurse. Her interest in theatre during the time spent in the summer with her father, who was famous. She studied acting in Brown University, and later in Juilliard School. In the two years following her graduation she started an Broadway career. The following year, she began her career in the world of television. Since then she has appeared in a variety of films, television productions and stage plays. She's been nominated for three Academy Awards, five Tony Awards, and four Primetime Emmy Awards (including two Golden Globe Awards), and has won numerous awards throughout her career. Although she received many awards throughout her career, theatre is always her main interest.
