Kristen Noel Kristy Swanson (born Kristen Noel Swanson) is an American actress who was famous as the character Buffy Summers. Her other characters include: Rebecca Becky Granger, in the television film Nightingales as well as the short-lived NBC show of similar name, Erica Paget as Early Edition on CBS and Marlowe Viccellio as Psych. Being a native of California, Swanson was interested in acting from the time she was a child. She started her career as an actor in commercials. The first time she appeared on television was the NBCs It's Your Move sitcom episode that aired in 1984. The big screen debut was two years after in the romantic drama Pretty in Pink. Swan is known for her blonde voice, breathless hairlisp, and the breathless voice. However in recent times she's been playing the role of a side character. She won an award called the Young Artist Award in 1989 for the Best Young Actress in Horror or the Mystery Motion Picture to portray Flowers in the Attic.
