Katherine Heigl has opened up about how she was born into a "white bubble" and how this realization has affected how she raises her multiracial adopted children. She was in the movie "Firefly Lane", revealed to an interviewer that it was not important how dark her skin color was to her. However, after meeting her adopted Korean American older sister, she noticed the differences in the way people took care of her. Meg was asked if her treatment was different in the times they went out with their parents and then when they went alone. She replied, "Oh yeah, always!" Heigl said to Parents, "That made me realise that I had been so ignorant." The actress said that she was angry but felt she needed use that anger in order to assist the adopted children she has. Heigl has a four-year old son and a 13-year-old husband, Josh Kelley. The couple adopted their daughters Nancy Leigh, 12, from South Korea in 2009 and Adalaide eight who is Black, in 2012.
