Katherine Heigl has opened herself about her experience of being raised in an environment that was a "white bubble" and how that realization has affected how she parents her adopted multiracial children. She revealed in an interview recently that, in terms of skin color there is no difference. After speaking with her adopted sister by South Korea she realized just the way society views them. When I asked Meg how she was treated when in public, with or without our parents, the treatment was very distinct. Meg replied "Oh sure! Every all the time!" Heigl told Parents, "That made me realise that I had been so ignorant." According to the actor, she grew furious. But, she was determined to channel this energy into aiding her adopted daughters. Heigl and her 13-year-old husband -- the singer Josh Kelley -- have a 4-year-old son together, Joshua Bishop Kelley, Jr. They took in Nancy Leigh (age 12) from South Korea and Adalaide (age 8) and is black, in 2009.
